How it works

A Listening Post session is simple by design. There's no agenda, no assessment, and nothing to prepare. You just show up and talk.

Request a session

Choose a time that works for you, or request the next available listener. Sessions happen by phone or voice call — whatever feels most comfortable.

Talk about anything

Work stress, a hard conversation, a decision you're sitting with, a day that was just too much — there's no wrong topic. You lead; the listener follows.

The listener just listens

They won't interrupt with solutions, won't offer opinions on what you should do, and won't try to diagnose or label what you're feeling. Their only job is full attention.

End whenever you're ready

Talk for ten minutes or an hour. There's no pressure to reach a conclusion or "resolve" anything. Saying it out loud is often enough.

What listeners do and don't do

Listeners will

  • Give you their full, undivided attention
  • Let you talk at your own pace, in your own words
  • Reflect back what they're hearing, if it helps
  • Sit with silence without rushing to fill it
  • Keep what you share private

Listeners won't

  • Tell you what to do or offer advice
  • Diagnose, label, or assess your mental health
  • Judge your choices or your situation
  • Interrupt to share their own opinions
  • Replace therapy, medical care, or crisis support

A note on scope

The Listening Post is meant for the everyday weight people carry — stress, uncertainty, grief, frustration, big feelings without a clear place to put them. It is not equipped for emergencies. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line instead.
